Upcycling workshops with the NGO SHF

During a two-month period in the summer of 2022, I was a volunteer at the Sumba Hospitality Foundation.

With a focus on sustainability and the development of practical skills, I set up a sewing workshop in the school in which the students created tote bags from donated garments and fabrics.

Very soon it became clear that with a few basics, the students all got a means to express their creativity freely. Moreover, it gave them the opportunity to mend their clothes and create small products to gain extra income.

The bags were sold in the giftshop to help raise funds for the non-profit organisation.
